Terms of Service
Last Updated: September 17, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the website located at freeloadplan.com (the “Service” or “FreeLoadPlan”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any portion of these terms, you must refrain from using the Service.
2. Scope of Tools & Nature of Service
FreeLoadPlan provides digital estimation calculators designed to assist shippers, logistics coordinators, freight brokers, and warehouse professionals with common cargo planning tasks, including:
- Freight Density Calculator: Estimating shipment volume and pounds per cubic foot (PCF).
- Freight Class Calculator: Estimating National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) classes based on standard density tables.
- Pallet Calculator: Modeling box footprints, layer stacking, and 2D/3D arrangement on standard pallet bases.
- Trailer Linear Feet Calculator: Modeling approximate floor space utilization in commercial dry van trailers.
The Service is provided free of charge, with calculations executed client-side in the user's web browser.
3. NMFC Freight Classification Disclaimer
The National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) is a standardized freight categorization system maintained and copyrighted by the National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc. (NMFTA).
While our Freight Class Calculator applies standard Freight Classification Development Council (FCDC) density guidelines, density is only one of four transportation characteristics evaluated by carriers. The other three characteristics—stowability, handling, and liability (value per pound, susceptibility to theft or damage, hazardous properties)—can alter the official classification of a commodity regardless of density.
You are solely responsible for verifying the exact NMFC item code, sub-item, packaging requirements, and full description against current NMFTA publications before tendering freight or issuing a Bill of Lading.
4. Trailer Space & Pallet Loading Estimates
Linear feet calculations, trailer floor layouts, and pallet stacking arrangements are mathematical models assuming uniform, ideal cargo geometry:
- Real-world trailer loading must adhere to Federal and State Department of Transportation (DOT) gross vehicle weight limits (GVWR) and per-axle weight distribution rules (steer, drive, tandem axles).
- Pallet overhang, packaging bulges, irregular cargo profiles, air bag dunnage, load bars, and carrier securement requirements will affect actual floor space consumption.
- Final loading authorization, space allocation, and trailer weight distribution remain under the professional discretion of the driver and warehouse loading crew.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY FINANCIAL LOSSES RESULTING FROM:
- Carrier freight billing adjustments, re-weigh charges, or re-classification fees.
- Linear feet overage surcharges or trailer refusal costs.
- Cargo crushing, load shifting, or physical shipment damages.
- Missed delivery appointments, transit delays, or detention fees.
